Since the beginning of time, English professors have been requiring students to write essays to help improve their writing skills. And since that time, students have been stressing their brain trying to write the perfect essay. As college students and adults, we know there is no such thing as a perfect essay. So the question arises how might one come about writing a perfect college level essay?.
As I have previously stated, there is no such thing as a perfect essay. There are, however, some helpful ways to make your essay a huge success. When writing a college essay, one must know that getting started is the hardest part. How often have you noticed when it's time to begin your writing assignment, you suddenly have this incredible desire to do anything but that assignment? If this happens to you, you may find it reassuring to know that many professional writers go through the same thing before they begin writing. In regards of this, the writer should always start early. Give yourself at least two hours to write a good college essay. You need time to look over your ideas and organize your thoughts. Remember, few writers can do a good job when being rushed. Before you write anything, you should remind yourself of two things. First, you must have some valuable ideas to tell the reader. Second and most importantly, you must communicate those ideas to your reader. If you do not care about what you are writing, then do not expect understanding from the reader.
Once you have decided that communicating clearly with your reader is your ultimate goal, you are now ready to begin some pump-primer techniques. The pump-primer technique is an exercise used to help the writer generate ideas about his or her subject. The technique that works best for me is called clustering. When clustering, place your general subject in a circle in the middle of a blank sheet of paper. Now, begin drawing other lines and circles that may emerge from the original subject.
