The interview is the main thing employers look at when they are hiring individuals. If someone makes a good impression, he or she is more likely to be remembered in the end and to possibly get the job. If one wanted to make a good impression it would be important to have a good physical appearance and act sociable with the interviewer.
First, as soon as one walks into an interview the employer sees his or her physical appearance and immediately makes a subconscious opinion on him. Opinions are everything in an interview. If the person comes in and looks like a bum with old ratty clothes, immediately, the employer will think that this person is not good and will not fit in with our company. On the other hand, if someone were to walk into a meeting with someone hiring for a shoe store wearing a suit and tie, the employer might think they maybe a little over qualified for the job. The key thing to making a good first impression is knowing the environment you are going into and to dress accordingly.
After the first impression, the employer will want to talk and get to know the possible new employee. When the employer does this the individual should never clam up or try to say the right thing, always tell the truth and whatever is on his or her mind. They should never be afraid to ask questions and laugh. However, when it comes to laughter the person being interviewed should never force a laugh, because it is always obvious and can come across as rude, if misinterpreted. Throughout the interview the employer will be asking the person many questions and giving scenarios upon what he or she would do in that situation. While all of this is going on it is most important for the interviewee to be completely honest with their answers. .
