In this example, what if Mohammad had never experienced a miracle? What if he had just told people lies about him hearing voices or coming across someone with such greater power? What if his scripture was something he had just randomly come up with? I mean, any genius could say he went to some mountain, heard some voices, and then wrote a scripture of what he or she interpreted from his or her experience
It's a belief - it's something one holds to be true, but can not be proven.
The universe would be meaningless without human interpretation. We would have no clue about our existence, about our religion, and every other important aspect that makes up our lives. We would be in search of reasons and answers pertaining to questions such as; why is the ocean blue, why are the clouds white, or why is there water falling from the sky? When questions like these are asked, knowing the reasons makes things a bit more understandable. Furthermore, we would not be conducting researches to understand our universe better if we did not have the ability to interpret. Having the ability to interpret enables us not only to learn how life and its surroundings function, but also understand the purpose or the reason why it functions.
Moreover, humans are driven to construct meaning in life to understand the importance of life, and to understand what it is they have to do or follow to get to where they want to be. Experiences are significant factors in understanding one's life. Based on our experiences, we make interpretations which enable us to understand our strengths and weaknesses and more importantly, convert our weaknesses into strengths. Our meanings continually change because were faced with different experiences daily; thus, our construction for the meaning of life is never permanent; it is always being revised. Our thoughts of how we perceived life 10 years ago is not the same as the way we perceive life to this very day.
