The word terrorism first appeared in the French revolution (1789-1799). Terrorism is the use or threat of violence to create fear inside civilians. Most terrorists do it to support their beliefs and political causes. Global terrorism is terrorism on a worldwide scale. Terrorism is criminal violence inflicted upon innocent bystanders. Terrorism affects men, women and children all over the world. World-renowned terrorists such as Osama Bin Laden has performed criminal acts in many countries all over the world and has now made himself a wanted men. Terrorism affects people individually whether it is aimed directly to them or to people around them. As a result, people can lose their lives, family and friends, for example: the September 11 incident, where 3000 civilians and fireman lost their lives. Over two hundred other individuals lost their lives when Bin Laden bombed the US embassies in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania and Nairobi, Kenya in 1998. Terrorism leaves the victim in a state of fear and they are left traumatized, if they're not killed by the terrorists.
Terrorism affects society and families in a major way. When a terrorist attacks or destroys a building, public transport, houses etc. it affects the whole community. It is not only affecting the community by destroying something, but it also takes lives and family members. For instance, the September 11 attacks left over 2000 children without a parent or parents. If a public transport vehicle such as a bus gets blown up by suicide bomber, the bus is no longer useable and more importantly, people are dead. This will cause people to be late to work, which will cause the community to have poor services. Terrorism affects the world in many different ways. September 11 attacks shook the world, every one was shocked at the attacks and they couldn't believe that people could do such a thing. The mastermind behind the attacks is the most wanted man in the world Osama Bin Laden.
