Annie Bradstreet

She married a man name Simon Bradstreet. Her and family were on the ship Arbella that was one of the first groups of settlers to the colony of Massachusetts Bay. Her family was in government. Most of her writings were intended for her own private source; so therefore; it really was not meant for the public. I thought the group of writings that we had to read from her was great. She uses her own personal experiences and religious beliefs in her writings. By her texts, I could tell that she was a very strong and charming woman. In the poem "The Author to Her Book", think she doubts her writing talent. She really wasn't poor so some people could not understand why she was writing, because in that day in time women only wrote, for the public, for money. "To My Dear and Loving Husband," I could tell that she had much love for her husband. I could tell how much she missed him while he was away. She believes in God; so therefore; her seeing all the evil going on in brings her down, (in her poem "Upon the Burning of Our House"); but she reminds herself that God will take care of her and that there is better gifts in heaven and no one can destroy that. She had a strong faith.
