Death and the King's Horseman

The tribe and the British have proved their points but it is a tough decision to make because the British does have much more power over the Nigerians, but also the Nigerians have had that land and have been performing rituals since their ancestors. Both points of views are debatable, which means that this brings them to a major conflict. (Soyinka, Wole. Pages ).
In Death and the King's Horseman there seems to be a lack of communication. This problem leads to conflicts and misunderstanding of ones culture, customs, and laws. The British and the Nigerians won't communicate because they really don't understand where each group of people is coming from. Miscommunication is probably one of the biggest factors that affect each group of people to learn about each other. If each group was more cooperative and less racist, then they would've probably learned more about each other and made some kind of proposal to handle this situation better. (Soyinka, Wole. Pages ).
There seems to be a positive and negative tone for this play and it sets up the mood of this play. There are many positive tones for both the Nigerians and the Brits. The Nigerians seem to have a positive nature when they are carrying out their ritual without any interruptions. The rituals setting affect the perception of the play's tone because to the tribe it seemed perfect to perform a ritual and it was a way that they expressed their appreciation to the gods. Drumming was also a way that the play's tone was understood. The drumming would often change if some part of the ritual was completed or failed to be completed. The British had a positive attitude when the tribe had no ritual going on. Also, the Brits seemed to be very calm at the party because they didn't know what was going on and this was because of Pilkings. The play seems to have a negative tone when the ritual was interrupted in many cases.
