Psychoanalysis and the Gaining of Spiritual Enlightenment in

All of the world's population is seeking a total unity with themselves.
According to the Hindu religion, people of the world are to busy searching for the never ending pleasure in life. This search is found to be too trivial and locks people into the self. During this search, people lose sight of what is truly important, which is heading down the correct spiritual path. This search for worldly success leads to the obvious wealth, fame and power. This all may be well and good, but it also soon becomes precarious, competitive and leaves an insatiable taste for this wealth. This search centers too much on the meaning of self and does not survive death. The basic start for gaining of spiritual enlightenment in Hinduism is the renunciation of desire. One must fully and willingly give up all worldly processions and ego to see and access the correct path. One must be able to see that the ego is not finite. Also, one must turn to the surrounding community for help and assistance. One must also perform selfless acts of duty and service for the good of others and the community. After this basic renunciation, one can really begin to feel real joy. With this joy comes full knowledge of the true being. The next thing that follows is moksha. Moksha is the liberation form the finitude that restricts all life from becoming fully enlightened. With moksha, one can see that there is infinite being and awareness. .
The Hindus, however believe that all of the world's population already posses these things. They are the basic underlying of the self. This underlying self is called Atman, and it is everyone's duty to have their Atman join Brahman, the godhead of Hinduism. This eternal Bhraman is buried under distractions, false assumptions and self regarding instincts, which in turn makes up the surface of the self. If one becomes tied up in the surface self, all they will come to know is a limited spectrum of being, knowledge and joy.
