I think Australia is a non-violent society in regards to other countries such as America, China, Japan etc. Australia is rated as the second best country to live in behind Norway, but there is still a lot of violence in our society. It might not be as great as American society but it still makes the country look bad.
There is always going to violence in sport because it's the nature of the game. Some sports need violence to be played such as boxing, wrestling and martial arts. There is always frustration in games, which cause players to lose concentration and take out their anger on the opposing player. A recent case of such violence was in the SANFL when Central and Norwood were playing. A fight broke out on one of the wings and a team of children waiting on the sidelines to play at half time got caught in the middle of the fight. The main concern though with violence in sports is not the players but the spectators. Due to alcohol consumption fights, brawls and throwing of objects has disturbed players. There have been arenas that tried to ban alcohol but it didn't work. .
There is also a lot of violence in the communities of Australia. Teenagers, foreigners or indigenous people are just a few people who make gangs and go around causing trouble like stealing and getting into fights. The main reasons these people do this is irresponsible parents who do not look after their child in the right way. Violence can also occur in the home of the family. Some cases might be because the child or parent has a disease such as ADHD or ADD. But there also kids or parents who don't care about there family and only themselves and they do as they please. They might beat up a family member for such pitiful excuses such as they didn't do what they were told to do. Most of these people are under the influence of drugs and it carries on through the generations of the family. .
In conclusion, Australia is a very well organised and peaceful place.
