"Self-assessment requires facing the truth and seeing yourself objectively." How can I change my life is a question I ask myself almost everyday. In order for me to improve my life better I chose to go back to school. Academically, I think I need more concentration in my studies. The reason I feel this way is that I don't use my crititcal thinking skills to my full advantage. I usually make poor decisions that led to negative consequences throughout my life. If I would have sat down and examined all my problems more closely, I would of had a better outcome of my life. Now I realize that in order for me to be successful on a job, I would have to be successful in my school work. My personality style would be that of an Director. I try to find practical solutions to problems, be responsible for my actions, focus on results, and have a direction. With me being a Criminal Justice major, all these are important to me, more like career foundations. I'm a hard-worker and like to get things done. I learn best majority of the time by hands-on and direct experience. I feel more comfortable by actually doing an project with someone rather than struggle to follow instructions I might not understand. At the same time, I can be an creator. I like to make things happen by turning ideas into action. Participating in classroom activites also helps my learning process. Being able to speak out in public requires having to make the subject you are speaking of interesting to everyone. It has to be unique. It requires you to be yourself and to use your imagination.
With all these in mind, I feel like I can be successful in school and on the job. I know that I have to have the willingness to make the necessary effort.
