Ball Lightning

Ball lightning usually maintains its shape, size, color and brightness, but it has been reported that the pulsing balls have changed their forms. They appear to be a plasma type substance where some appear to be transparent to the center and others also look hollow3. .
Many people are confused about ball lightning, which is completely understandable because ball lightning confuses the most profound scientists. What confuses many people is the movement of ball lightning. It moves at a pace of about a few meters per second, however sometimes they remain motionless in mid-air. Usually ball lightning descends from a cloud to the ground, although sometimes it just appears. The balls do not rise and they just hover the ground. It has been reported that it may bounce from tree-to-tree or even wall-to-wall3. There is one unbelievable trait about ball lightning. There have been accounts where the ball passed through a small hole or crack (compressing itself, then reforming it's previous shape). It's also been known to pass through glass and walls without leaving any traces of burn marks! On the other hand it has left behind a "burned" hole on the glass or wall ranging from any size. Something even stranger is that there are accounts where the ball passed through glass or a wall and left behind a spherical shape with smooth edges and no apparent burn marks1! It's pure craziness! What's wild is that some eyewitnesses came in contact with the balls and some reported that it had a cool feeling, while others have reported that it left burn marks1. Now tell me, doesn't that make you wonder? .
There are even more characteristics that make ball lightning even more mystifying. It has been noted that sometimes the ball's make a hissing type sound. Another trait about ball lightning is that it tends to be attracted to metallic objects (like wire fences, phone lines, etc.), and it"ll travel along those object3.
