The Bourgeois Gentleman


            A man can be fooled in many ways but in this tale of a man who is worried about only quality and stature among people he is fooled in a way that would put him to shame if only he knew.
             The music master and dancing master are preparing for the arrival of Mr. Jourdain who they composed and put together music and dances to be entertainment for quests. Mr. Jourdain comes in, in a night gown and a cap because his clothes from the tailor are not yet ready. He listens to the serenade which the Music Master tells him to try and view all the musicians as Shepards and watches the dances preformed and asks if they too r shepard. The masters of each profession try to tell him that he needs both to live a good life. The music master tells how if everyone knew music there would be no war because, war proceeds from want of concord amongst men and if every man knew music it would be a means of keeping them better in tune of seeing peace in the world. The Dance master tells how don't people say "such a one has made a false step in such an affair", and to fix this he must learn how to dance cause then he would not make any false steps. After indulging in a short lesson of how to dance and sing the Fencing Master comes in the room. Mr. Jourdian takes his fencing lessons and the Fencing Master tells how courage is the most needed attribute to survive. This turns into a argument among the three masters on which is more "needed". .
             Soon after the three masters are arguing over there professions the Philosophy Master comes in to give Mr. Jourdain his philosophy lessons for the day. With his arrival Mr. Jourdain tells the philosophy master to give his words of wisdom to the other arguing masters. In doing this the philosophy master too ends up arguing with them. Mr. Jourdain does not interfere to break them up. For his lessons of the day he chooses the topic of orthography. The philosopher teaches him that there are vowels and consonants.
