Sir Lancelot Du Lac was quite possibly the bravest and most gallant knight in the Middle Ages. All of his battles were unbalanced due to his great skill. He was King Arthur's best and first knight. He was very adventurous and prone to getting into trouble, from which he always emerged without a scratch. Despite Lancelot Du Lac's flaws, he is still regarded as the noblest knight of the round table. He was the perfect knight and the model of a great fighter who never lost a battle in his lifetime. .
Lancelot had the bravery of many men and the might of countless more men. Lancelot was very adventurous and never turned down an endeavor. He never let anyone but the king order him around. Above all he was very haughty in that way, but noble towards his king and country.
When King Arthur discovered the affair between Lancelot and Guinevere, many Knights of the Round Table became furious with Lancelot. Gawain was one of the most determined to avenge King Arthur and went to Lancelot's castle and challenged him to a duel. Gawain lost, and challenged him to many other duels, and lost many more times. Eventually, Gawain died from the wounds that Lancelot issued to him. A knight who looses a battle, or dies, against Lancelot does not see it as a total loss as Gawain did. Nevertheless, Gawain thought it a noble death to die by the greatest knight's sword. .
King Arthur was furious with his much-loved knight and tried to persecute him. Lancelot instead took Guinevere quickly to his castle, Joyous Guard, in Brittany, France. Lancelot left because he knew King Arthur would not like the sight of his favorite knight betraying him. This tore the Knights of the Round Table asunder and King Arthur when he tried to rescue Guinevere. Mordred took seize of England while his father was out. He even tried to obtain Queen Guinevere for himself. Also in turn Lancelot killed many of his friends and Knights of the Round Table trying to protect Guinevere for his own bidding.
