The Holocaust


            The holocaust changed history because it was the period of persecution and extermination of Jews by nazi Germany. The persecution of German Jews began with Hitlers rise to power. Jews were terrorized in anti-Jewish riots, their property was taken and they were forced into concentration camps. .
             After World War two started, Hitler established death camps to do what he called the final solution of Jews. By the end of the war, six million Jews had been murdered.
             Benito Mussolini was a fascist dictator from Italy. He changed the world because he centralized all power in himself as the leader of the fascist party and attempted to create an Italian empire in alliance with Hitlers Germany. The defeat of Italian arms in World War two brought an end to his imperial dream and lead to his downfall.
             The liberals supported Mussolini. He introduced strict censorship and altered the methods of election. He took over the ministries of the interior, the army and other armed services, and of public works. He held up to seven departments as well as premiership. He was the head of all the all-powerful fascist party and the armed fascist militia.
             Hitler altered history in many ways. Hitler became very racist against Jews after he thought they stabbed Germany in the back, with the German defeat. Hitler signed treaties with the Soviet Union, The promised mutual cooperation, trade privileges and neutrality in case of a war. In 1939 Germany invaded Poland, two days later Britain and France declared war on Germany. That was the start of World war two. Hitlers armies overran Poland and conquered many others. While this was going on, Benito Mussolini declared war on France and Britain. In 1940 France signed an armistice with Germany. Hitler directed storm troopers, Nazi officials, and Army members in a campaign of mass slaughter. Six million Jews were murdered. .
             In 1945, Hitler named his mistress, the next day they both killed themselves.
