Its Not the End of the World

            The Title of the book i read was It's Not The End of The World written by Judy Blume. The setting takes place in a house in New Jersey. .
             There are several characters in this book however there is one main character and several minor characters. Karen Newman is the main character of the book. The minor characters are Ellie and Bill, Jeff and Amy Newman. Ellie and Bill are Karen's parents. Jeff and Amy are her older brother and younger sister. .
             This book is basically about a family that is getting ready to go through a divorce. The Family consists of five people the two teenagers, one child, and the two parents. The parents are always fussing and fighting. Then one night the father comes home late and he starts complaining because his supper is cold. The mother gets mad and then Amy the child spills her milk on accident and her mom gets really mad and she snaps at Amy. Then the father gets mad and he gets up from the table and leaves. After that he doesn't come back for a few days. Karen finally asks her mother where her father is at and if he is coming home. All her mother can do is cry because she cant bring herself to tell the kids where their father is at and that he's not going to live with them any more. Next the kids aunt and uncle come over on a Saturday and take the kids and their mother out to eat so that their father can go move his stuff out of the house. While they are gone their mother finally tells the kids that her and their father are getting seperated and that they're thinking about getting a divorce soon. The mother tells them not to worry about it because nothing is final. The parents finally decide that they are getting a divorce and they tell the kids. The kids are upset about the whole idea. But, the worst out of the three is Karen. Karen really takes it the hardest than the others. She won't let herself believe that they are really getting a divorce. The next thing that happens is that the kids and their mother go out to eat and Jeff the son gets mad at his mother and he runs away.
