It's a Dirty Job But Someone Has To Do It.
Over the years I have learned that there are many types of housekeepers. There are the ones that clean all the time. The ones that clean once a day whether it needs it or not. Also there are the ones who believe that housecleaning is a job that should be shared by the whole family. Then there are the ones that clean only once per week and the ones that hire other's to do their cleaning for them.
The housekeepers that clean all the time wake up in the morning and after taking care of personal matters, immediately start making their beds and if a pair of socks managed to go unnoticed before bed the night before, they are picked up and put into the washing machine. Of course this is the only thing in the machine so starting the washer will have to wait. .
Their whole day revolves around cleaning. Every time a dish is used it is washed immediately. As soon as a cigarette is put into an ashtray the ashtray is emptied and washed. When there are enough dirty clothes to make even a small load the washer is started. Bed sheets and pillow cases are changed almost daily especially if they are being used. Even the ones in the guest room are changed a couple of times a week. The fact that they haven't been slept on makes no difference. Floors are swept several times a day and mopped at least once. They are mopped more if someone spills something or tracks a shoe print onto the floor. Carpets are vacuumed two or three times a day and steam cleaned weekly. Everything in the house is dusted daily. Windows have to be washed as well, and no streaks left behind or it will have to be redone. This type of housekeeper is obsessed with cleaning. They never have a hair out of place or a spot on their clothes. Their children are always as neat a pin and their toys are always carefully put away in their proper places. To walk into their house it almost seems as if no one actually lives there.
