Reflection of The Color of Water

I thought "The Color Of Water", by James McBride was an excellent book. James did a terrific job at taking me into his shoes to feel how it was like to be him in his world. Through personal thoughts, feelings and gifted intelligence he expressed vividly the feelings towards his white skinned mother, haveing to live in a small house cramped with eleven other siblings, his difficult childhood, and the search for his mother's past and the hidden identity within his soul. .
James brought this book to life. I really liked the interesting arrangement and the unique way this book was written. It was a book that held the story of two people that were different in colorand who lived completely different lives, yet they were son and mother. I enjoyed the chapter when he discovered more about the Shilskys and himself. "Whatever I'm looking for, I've found it." This chapter was filled with a lot of emotion and description.I think he discovered the true meaning of life. .
Ruth's incredible achievements with her twelve children were truly inspiring and extremely miraculous to me. From this I believe "anything is possible with God" in your heart. From the tough childhood Ruth grew up in, she overcame the hardest battles and obstacles in life as a woman and a mother. She learned how to survive on her own and build herself into a tremendous person. She transformed into a loving personwho is faithful to God, fearless towards prejudice and hate. Ruth is truly an incredible woman and so far she is the most inspiring and great to me. I believe there is no answer more correct than the answer "God is the color of water.".
Many parts of this book made me think about "man's inhumanity to man" without showing the smallest amount of mercy. Tateh is the most barbaric man. His money is more important to him than his life.
