Why Does God Allow Suffering

God is faithful to His children and will not permit them to be tested beyond what they can bear. But He will also provide a way of escape. God has a tremendous love for His children and this vast love is infinite. 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 says, " My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong." .
God allows His children to suffer because disappointments strengthen one's character and make them more like Jesus Christ. God has completely and ultimately equipped and prepared one for any trial that may occur. He is the potter and His children are the clay in which He molds, tugs, and stretches until His work is finished. Kay Arthur author of As Silver Refined (1997), states, "God is in perfect control of them [trials], and in His perfect design He's permitted them to teach me to act rather than react. He has me in training" (p.74). God has a reason for the suffering His children endure. "It was either because you deserved to fail since you didn't choose to obey Him in this area, or it was because He wanted to teach you something, to cleanse you, to make you more like Him" (Arthur, 1997, p. 56). Do not feel downcast because of the suffering that transpires-there is a reason for it. God will use one's suffering to minister to others who are experiencing adversity in their lives. One draws near to God from tribulation and others notice the difference that has occurred in the individual. By handling the trial with grace and humbleness they become a breathing, walking, and living testimony to others who are also struggling with trials in their own lives. When approached positively, it can indefinitely make a strong impact on others, as well as the individual. "God will use the disappointments of life to teach and train you and to make you more like Jesus Christ.
