Through this course I have learned a lot about myself and the organizations I am affiliated with at this time. For many years, I have been a leader and a member of an organization called CYSA. CYSA stands for California Youth Soccer Association. This organization has really impacted my life in many ways, especially through Soccer as a sport. Prior to playing soccer I did not have the moral or responsibilities that I have today. Now through this organization and soccer it has taught me responsibility and for most has given me the confidence to take on life head on. .
I believed this organization has helped many people in the community but when I stop to think the other end of the stick, there are many problems. For one thing I believe the president of the organization is not in it for the sport but he is in for the money. There is a lot of politics in any sport when it comes to money. This league and organization groom the best of the best when it comes to talented soccer players. Many scouts and universities scout this organization and league for the best. Once a scout finds a potential prospect he has to speak to the organization to make an offer. Also the scout must get parental consent to draft for college or for the MLS. The MLS stands for Major League Soccer and is the biggest professional soccer league in the United States. .
So while taking this class, this has made me of what this organization is really about. I really never analyzed the negative end of the business, I guess because I really felt in my heart that everyone in the organization was true. I ran into a situation about a month ago and it really made me change my mind about this organization from an individual standpoint. My friend who also grown up with me, heard that the president of the organization has been laundering money and working with scouts to make money off of our players. Now I really did not want to believe it myself but I always had a bad feeling about him.
