While attending Baruch College for 3 years I have taken numerous classes that are in my field. Finance has always interested me in many ways. Having the opportunity to take all the finance classes gave me the experience that my internship required. I used my knowledge in the stock market that I took in Fin 4777 with Prof. Kamich to monitor a couple of stocks. Trying to linger the relationship between a "candle" and a "head and shoulder" on a graph that has 10 years worth of information became very useful in my part. When you have an open candle it represents that it's increasing in its figures throughout the years. I was actually able to point that out to my boss and it left him impressed. Another aspect that I have concentrated on was the indexes, they allow you to tell the difference or benchmark the activity of your investments in the stock market. With my experience that I have gained at ISI Emerging Markets I was given the knowledge to compare the whole return of the stocks to the actual index. .
I have realized how Investors choose different ways to reach their goals to earn money. Some favor stocks with secure dividends, others favor accelerating earnings, and each individual chooses its own path. Some choose only large, well-established companies, others want to invest in companies that may grow to become large and established. I realized that there is no single correct way. There are actually many successful investment models; there are many ways to pick a stock. The most popular one and the one most investors use is to start by identifying high quality stocks. Characteristics Of a Quality Stock include Solid franchise, dominant market share, proprietary technology, barriers to entry, strong financial condition and most prominently is excellent managerial leadership. (as explained in one of my finance textbooks) .
