You just hang your flag as a sign of patriotism, and out of pride and respect.
Whoever you are, you have learned with the rest of the world, that there are issues out there that need to be resolved. Issues like prejudices and political and racial indifferences that have led to the situation we are now facing in our world today. A situation rooted in indifferences. .
"Conventional wisdom has divided the players in the grievous tragedy known as the Holocaust into three groups: Perpetrators, (Hitler and the Nazi regime), Victims, (the Gypsies, homosexuals, and the Jewish communities), and Bystanders, (the German civilians). A fourth dimension was added-The Righteous Among the Nations of the World", (the rescuers and non-Jewish resisters). Those people considered worthy of (this) title are defined as "the high-minded Gentiles who risked their lives to save Jews during the Holocaust"" (Pritchard 1). This is also true for the attack on America. There were the Perpetrators: Osama Bin Laden and his allies. Victims: The plane passengers, and the employees and people in and around the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and the plane that went down in Pennsylvania. Bystanders: Americans who saw the tragedy on the news. And, the Gentiles or "The Righteous Among the Nations of the World": .
The many volunteers including, and not exclusively, the American Red Cross, and the members of the New York Fire and Police Departments who risked their lives to save the victims trapped and wounded from the "Attack on America".
The lessons of the Holocaust are an imperative piece of education today for many significant reasons. It is crucial that today's generation is aware of the many differences that can cast people away from, and against each other. They must also understand that it is not necessarily the people themselves in what they do, but rather the way they go about doing them, that is so erroneous. .
In Marion Pritchard's personal documentation script Reflections on Rescue, she quotes from the account entitled Faith after the Holocaust written by Eliezer Berkovits.
