Watching the Goodfellas movie kept me very well entertained, and interested in the movie. There was never a point where I was bored. Martin Scorses" Goodfellas gives the classic gangster movie vibe, along with a star cast and story line that keeps you watching. Drugs, a cast of great actors, and a true gangster story kept me watching.
Cocaine was the drug of choice for these fellas, as well as murder (which I consider a drug), and succeeding in the biggest money heist in their time kept them ticking. Cocaine made these guys money. Even when they were locked up in the joint they were still making money off of selling their product. The murders, well, that's a different story. If these guys don't like you, you better watch out. Sometimes I think they wanted to hurt or kill someone just for fun. They killed guys in their own mob! The money heist was great. It is the famed Lufthansa heist. These guys actually heisted a cargo container from Kennedy Airport filled with money. .
Ray Liotta, Robert De Niro, and Joe Pesci are just a few of the star cast in this movie. Joe Pesci won Best Supporting Actor at the Oscars for his role playing Tommy DeVito. These guys work so well together, and give the mob/gangster feel to the movie. They made this true story come back to life with their performances. I had o watch it again just to pull everything together, and really see if there were any flaws in their acting together. As far as I could see there were no conflicts, and you could tell they loved working together by the chemistry displayed on screen.
The shootem" up, steal their money and sell some drugs is a classic story for gangster movies. The fact that this was a true story makes it all the better. When I found out that this movie was based on a true story I couldn't believe it. Just everything that happened, and how things worked was unreal. Honestly I wouldn't want to be a gangster, there's too much that can go wrong.
