The Alien Payoff - The surprising new bottom line.

The Alien Payoff - Immigration Gain or Loss.
Immigration has long been an issue in America and there are plenty of viewpoints on this matter. Is immigration hurting the American economy or do we gain from an immigrant who comes to this country for freedom and a new economic life. This has been an issue of much discussion in the past few years. .
After so initial research, I found that that immigration is a boast to the economy and add as much as $10 billion each year. Paul Glastris's article, The Alien Payoff discusses that a majority of immigrates that come to this county are looking for work. The unskilled immigrate will take whatever job is available at a much lower age that most Americans would receive for the same job. For most of the employers who offer a lower wage this translates into higher profits for the vendor he works for, and lower prices at the market. The article also indicates that several states that the taxpayers in those states pay an additional tax to cover health care and public schools that are used by the immigrate when the taxes the newcomer pays fall short. .
Most new immigrates families receive more publicly funded services than they pay in taxes. Especially the Latin American because they tend to have more school aged children and they require additional educational services than other households. Eventhough immigrates use about the same services as American's, they pay less taxes because they own less property and are in lower paying positions.
Each year there are about 800,000 people, who immigrate to this country legally, with about 200,000 or so who migrate illegally. .
Most immigrates work in specialized sectors of the economy such as the manufacturing and service industry. These immigrates compete primarily for jobs with each other and with Americans who do not hold high school diplomas. Because of this competition native-born Americans have seen wages fall about 5 percent (cited The New Americans: Economic, Demographic, and Fiscal Effects of Immigration).
