.
The surveillance indicated that there was a performance gap between the "current regulations on bouncer behaviour- and the way the bouncers at Slåbrock did their job. Whether this is due to a lack of appropriate training, inadequate security plans/policies, " wrong persons for the job- or a combination of these- and other factors, is jet to be discovered through the investigation- and analysis phase. .
Investigation.
I started the investigation by putting up video cameras at the clubs entrance, main bar, dance floor and back yard. This way I was able to do a more thorough performance appraisal on the bouncers. I carried on doing in-dept interviews with the club management, the bouncers and the local police- and health authorities. I also made a questionnaire that I handed out to randomly selected guests at the club, asking about their impressions of the clubs security efforts. .
I tried to make the range of information sources as wide as possible believing it would make it easier to conduct an objective analysis.
Analysis.
In this phase I analysed and interpreted the data collected during the investigation.
"In their influential Training in Business and Industry, authors McGehee and Thayer suggest an approach to analysis that that we have found useful in grouping and summarizing data and in preparing reports. We analyse data under three major headings. 1. Organization analysis, 2. Operations (job) analysis and 3. Person Analysis."" (Smith & Delahaye, 1998 p. 76).
After eliminating what I considered invalid data, I divided the remaining information into three groups as suggested in the- Smith & Delahaye model-.
Organization analysis:.
Analysing the organizational data, I found that the clubs security plans/policies did not satisfy the safety- and security requirements given by the local authorities. The overall impression was that the clubs printed working instructions and security layout vas very vague and unstructured.
