Many People have different opinions concerning couples that have colliding careers. The couple is then faced with an unpleasant conflict. Eventually, one or both people in the relationship have to make a decision. The couple can either work it out or result in getting a divorce. When both people in the relationship are faced with giving up their profession for the other person, it tends to lead to tension between the each other. I believe because the couple is married, they should work it out. It all comes down to four elements, which are sacrifice, compromise, communication and most importantly commitment.
.
There are many professions that people work hard to maintain. Being in a marriage comes with the financial responsibility, which can also lead to the stress in a marriage. When two careers collide, it usually has to do with who is the breadwinner and who is not. In the case of having priorities, the bills still have to get paid and the couple has to make a decision. Usually the women would be the one to make the sacrifice but as the world changes, women with careers make a change as well. According to the article on page 75, ""not so long ago, when couples spoke of career conflict, it usually meant he had the career, she had the conflict''. Career conflicts can be a big impact on any relationship. There are many cases in which a person in marriage have a job and is faced with a devastating situation, especially when it's the person who has the high profile job .
Sacrifice along with Compromise can be positive factors in finding a solution to the conflict of having colliding careers. These factors both work together in finding a solution. When two people are in a serious relationship, preferably marriage, they are faced with many pressures. The best ways to deal with these pressures are together, not apart. In result, two people can handle a situation better and come to an understanding of how to deal with it.
