Major characters: Ferris Bueller, Cameron, Sloane, and Dean Rooney.
Plot: Story of Ferris Bueller and friends day off from school and the mischief they cause.
Summary: The story starts in Ferris's room, him pretending to be sick to stay home from school. It's got to be the worst acting I've ever seen, but his parents believe it. His sister is furious because she has to go to school, and to make it worse, everyone thinks her brother is really sick.
Ferris gets his buddy Cameron who really is sick to come over and hang out. They soon pull a fast one on Dean Rooney and check out Ferris's girlfriend Sloane from school. They head into the city with Cameron's dad's precious Ferrari. Rooney knows something's up and he's determined to find out. Meanwhile everyone is collecting money for the "Save Ferris" fund. .
In this city, they give the car to a greasy haired toothless fellow to watch over (which he takes for a joyride). They head to a fancy restaurant and pull some swindling and got themselves a table. Almost ran into Bueller's dad on the way out too. Rooney is over at his house trying to see if he's skipping and get viciously mauled by their dog.
The gang then heads to an art gallery for a while and ended the day with a spectacular performance by Bueller in the Swedish day parade.
His sister gets fed up with all the sympathy for her brother, and heads home to find principal Rooney in her house. She knocks him out cold and calls the police. Police take her in for phony police report. Meanwhile Cameron totally thrashes his fathers Ferrari and realizes he doesn't have to let him push him around anymore. Now there's the big race. Ferris has to get home before his mom, sister, and brother. He manages it, but cant get in the back way. His sister, the one who hates him, ends up saving his hide. Everything works out for everyone except for old principal Rooney.

Historical Significance: I think it broke a lot of barriers in teen movies for it's time.
