             Chuck berry was a singer, composer, and a guitarist. He was known as one of the first most important performers of rock and roll music. His real name was Charles Edward Anderson Berry. He was born on October 18, 1926 in St. Louis, Missouri. When chuck first started to be interested with the guitar was during his teenage years. Berry first hit single was "Maybellence", which was also the first to have three number ones in separate Billboard. The categories were rhythm and blues, pop, country and western. What made him so popular were his outstanding performances, the people liked his complex guitar runs and energetic dancing. One of his guitar runs was called "duck step" it was a combination of crouching and walking with the guitar. Chuck Berry received many awards and honors for outstanding performance, and also his talent. He won a Grammy lifetime achievement in 1984.              Elvis Presley was the first rock star that was internationally known throughout the world. Elvis influenced many Americans and Europeans rock and roll performances. Elvis whole name is Elvis Aron Presley. The type of music that he liked to sing was country, rhythm, blues, and gospel music. That the age of thirteen Elvis and his family moved to Memphis, Tennessee, this is where he began recording three of his deals for Sun records in 1954. His first year he did not have a manager, but by 1955 Colonel Tom Parker became Presley manager. Tom was a successful promoter of country, and western singers one of Elvis first chart toppings single was "Heart Break Hotel" in 1956. Elvis was well known because of his controversial concert performances. Elvis first motion picture was in 1956, which was called "Love Me Tender", he also latter appeared in 32 other movies. Which my teacher said was not very good. Elvis recorded many songs with slower rhythms and more traditional melodies.
