Imigration

"Look at where we come from and where we end up- .

Immigration is what this country is based on. Every one comes for their own purpose and with them they bring and add a little of their culture and that make what is know as an American culture.
Me I am Mexican. I was born in Mexico and immigrated to the U.S. when I was about one and a half years old. Being Mexican comes with some baggage but not as much as some of the other cultures. There is the stereotype that all Mexicans are dirty, poor, and the only thing they are good for is to pick strawberries (or any other crop grown around the area.) Mexicans are the bad people the ones that make the gangs and cause the crimes. But all this is not true some of he thing happen in that manner is because if everyone was to be treated equal their opportunities suffer and people cant prosper and grow.
I am not the typical Mexican. I am not really all into my culture some people even say that I am " anti-Mexican,"" but I'm not I just am so use to the customs of here and I don't feel that just because I'm Mexican I have be to be a stereotype of them. I am an individual and I have different views about everything. For example I get into fights with my parents a lot because I don't like doing what they are accustom to do. I don't like them to tell me what I have to like just because I'm Mexican. We use to fight all the time about my music. I like rock and they listen to their Spanish, I don't know what I would call it but just Spanish music. I don't like Spanish music at all, not one kind, not one song so I can't stand listening to it and I patronize it in front of them and they get mad. They don't like my music either and they talk bad about it too, but we have got us to each other and we just keep to ourselves in that area.
We are from Jesus del Monte, a little town on the outskirts of Leon, Guanajuato, Mexico. We came to America in May of 1987 as a family (my mom and dad, my sister, my brother, and me.
