Reader Benefits

It reports events and activities of the Association and the state art education associations, as well as national and state news that affects the profession as a whole. The news section includes reports of art education developments in the divisions such as international, lifelong learning, public policy, minority concerns, the social theory and women's caucus. It also includes a placement section, grants, Federal and national initiatives, and book reviews. All, in all, I found this section extremely useful. It offered a clear, straight to the point, easy to read format while presenting practical information that is directly relevant and currently affecting the art education field. .
The National Art Education Association publishes the Art Education Journal bimonthly. The physical journal is approximately 10 by 12 inches and consists of 55 pages. Besides the NAEA News the journal also consists of regular columns such as, what do you believe, letters to the editor, reflections, historical analysis, frustrated voices and instructional resources. These sections vary in size but the average length of the instructional resources portion is about 3 pages long. The cover of this journal is bright and colorful while the contents are filled with black and white articles with the occasional colored picture. I defiantly recommend the use of this journal to educators employed in the art division. .
