Belly Dancing by definition is a Middle Eastern dance in which the dancer makes sensuous movements of the hips and abdomen. After researching the dance I've read that the dance does not only include movement of the "belly", it is actually involves more parts of the body. Belly dancing is usually done as a solo dance, with undulating hips and a body that gyrates shakes and rolls, all the while the feet can be syncopating and moving about. Stamping of the feet and jumping can be apart of the dance as well. Many belly dancers can and do use the finger cymbals while dancing. A good belly dancer can be judge by how well she moves her shoulders and not her pelvis. Belly dance is a physical art, which combines fitness and elegant dance movements. It emphasizes strength and grace of all that is feminine It is uniquely designed for women, which can only be mastered by the passionate ones Whether you are a housewife, a career woman, or still a student, who is worn out by life's tasks, dancing will help you push away your regular image, and let that hidden woman take over. It is an occasion to bring out that veiled actress or even a dance performer.
