             States of America in Congress assembled, That this Act may be cited as the.
             Civil Rights Act of 1964.".
             Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
             The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) began on July 2, 1965 after being established by the Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. It was established to enforce the six (6) laws/regulations listed below:.
            
             • Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 .
            
             • Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA) of 1967.
            
             • Equal Pay Act (EPA) of 1963.
            
             • Title I and Title V of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990.
            
             • Section 501 and 505 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 .
            
             • Civil Rights Act of 1991.
             The following are activities of the EEOC that address issues relating to employment discrimination: .
            
             • Coordinating all federal equal employment opportunty regulations, practices and policies.
            
             • Interpreting employment discrimination laws.
            
             • Monitoring the federal sector employment discrimination program.
            
             • Providing funding and support to state and local Fair Employment Practices Agencies (FEPAs).
            
             • Sponsoring outreach and technical assistance programs.
             National Origin Discrimination .
             Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 states that it is unlawful for an employer to discriminate against any employee or applicant because of the individual's national origin. It not only protects individuals against employment discrimination on the basis of national origin, but also race, color, religion and sex.
