When choosing a career there are many aspects to consider.
I would like my hours to be set, nine to five. The jobs I presently all do not have set hours. There are pros and cons to this. Although some days I get to get off work early and get to rest and do whatever I want, I do not have a steady income because of this. I can also never schedule anything I want to do after, I can only estimate the time I will be getting out of work. .
The longest distance I will be willing to travel is one hour away from my house. I heard most people live around two hours from their job. I would not be able to take traveling this much. I would feel like all of my time was being wasted traveling. Also if an emergency occurs and I need to get home I would like that to be easily accessible. Also being able to go home for like lunch are some luxuries I would like. I would like to drive my car there. If for instance it was a job in the city and I lived away from the city I would not mind taking the train. Either way it does not matter to me how I get to my job but it needs to be no more then one hour distance away from my home.
I do not have an extreme preference to the location of my job. I have lived in all areas urban, suburban, and rural. I am not a person who better functions in one place or another. If I had to make a choice I would like to work in New York City because I think I would have the most fun. I do not mind the crowds and I like the excitement of the busyness of it. I am also very interested in the variety of people in cities.
A medium sized business with a medium sized employees would be my ideal setting. I would not want to be in a small business because I would not want all the pressure and stress that comes along with only a few coworkers. I wouldn't want to be so depended on. On the other hand I also want to be recognized. In a larger business people get lost in between the other employees. I do not know what kind of hierarchy I would like.
