Music Restrictions?

The topic I am writing on this week, is should certain records be limited to purchase by adults only, and why or why not? How would you enforce this? I think that there definitely should be a restriction to buying records. It should be just like the rules for seeing movies if you"re under 17 you cant see a certain movie without parent or guardian accompanying you, or like age limits for buying cigarettes or pornography.
Music today influences kids almost as much as their parents do, and at a young age children are still having trouble discerning right from wrong. What they hear someone saying on a cd or the radio they might confuse. In and example I"ll use Eminem because he gets heat from this anyways. If eminem is talking about beating his girlfriend in one of his songs, a young kid might think well Eminem is famous so if he can do it I can do it; he might actually hit his girlfriend. So I think cd's with certain content, inappropriate language, extreme violence, lots of sexual content or references, it should be only allowed to be purchased by 18+. I mean I don't want my son or daughter listening to a song about doing mushrooms and raping women and calling them hoes and bitches. I know you have to be eighteen to purchase pornography, and the other day in class you defined pornography as "any material that is sexual or erotic". So in a way some music Is pornography, yet there is no solid age restriction to buy such albums. There is also a video game I have that you need to be 18 to purchase because of language and violence, and stealing. So if this game (Vice City) can be restricted due to violent content, language, and sexual content then why cant a record be censored. If a child really wants to buy and album from a specific artist that is too mature, send the kid to Walmart to buy a censored version of the cd.
Obviously once someone is older enough they will understand what's right and wrong and that the music they listen to is entertainment and that the musician is not always a good role model, although some of them are.
