There are several ways to smoke marijuana. A marijuana cigarette can be made with rolling paper, where 10% to 20% of the THC is transferred to the body. Another way is to remove the tobacco from a cigar and roll it using the cigar wrapper, which is called a blunt. Using a pipe will transfer 40% to 50% of the THC into the body.              There are many names for marijuana. In South Africa, it is called dagga, in Central Africa it's called djoma, in Turkey its called kabak, in Brazil it's called liamba, in Morocco and Algeria its called kif, and in India and Jamaica it's called ganja (Jaffe, Encyclopedia Americana 317-319).
             Here in the United States on the streets, marijuana is commonly referred to as airplane, astro turf, aunt mary, black bart, boom, bud, charge, chiba chiba, chunky, dagga, dinkie dow, dope, endo, ganja, grass, haircut, hay, mary jane, matchbox, maui wauie, pot, trees, sezz, weed, yellow submarine, and zambi (science.howstuffworks.com/marijuana6.html).
             The drug affects people differently by how strong the drug is, where it is used, what the user expects to happen, how it is taken, and if other drugs are used. Some people may feel nothing at all, most though feel relaxed or high and get what is called the munchies, where the person will feel very hungry and thirsty (nida.nih.gov/marijbroch/teenpg5-6.html).
             Marijuana creates psychoactive, or mind altering, reactions in the body. It is highly fat soluble, which means it absorbs quickly into organs covered by a fatty membrane such as the brain, liver, lungs, and reproductive organs (drugs.Indiana.edu/publications/iprc/factline/marijuana.
