The Lemon Shark averages between 8 and 10 feet long. The long back is yellow hence the name. On the other side is an off-white belly. The Lemons teeth are designed to catch little slippery fish around the mangroves, which is a high portion of the shark's diet. The sharks teeth when young an entire set is lost one every 7-8 days. The teeth are located in rows and are replaced whenever needed if dulled or broken off. .
The diet of a Lemon Shark is mainly fish including other sharks, but the main course is mullet, ladyfish or catfish. When it goes into deeper water jacks and stingrays are some of the shark's favorites, but they also feed on mollusks and crustaceans. They live in moderate depth of water usually 10 feet and shallower. It lives near the surface and at moderate depths, frequenting bays, docks, and river mouths. The Lemon does not usually travel out into depths more than 10 feet .
The Breeding of a Lemon is after it reaches sexual maturity 6 and ½ years and can have to as much as 17 young and they tend to breed in the spring and early summer. Also, this shark has attack people only thinking of u as prey seeing an arm or a foot moving around in shallow water were they feed attracts them to it and think of it as food bits it.
