Heroes

For There are many qualities that make Odysseus a hero. Characteristics in most cases, that most heroes consist. For instance, Odysseus went to fight in the Trojan war, to fight for a cause, and he had succeeded. Now Odysseus was a man with an intelligent mind, and he is also a man with outstanding bravery. Also must not forget that he is a top of the line athlete, which only adds more to this awesome character. It is no wonder why many people refer to Odysseus as a powerful mythic hero. Odysseus often hesitates before acting, because he uses his reason and gift to evaluate things. His patience is one of his most important additional attributes. See Odysseus was a man who was the Einstein of war, he knew pretty much every war game there was, and was an expert at lying. Odysseus would get himself out of alot of trouble whether it be with a Cyclops or out of Haites. So how do you compare Odysseus with Paul or one of his classmates? Well, Odysseus is also another romantic. Odysseus was a man who loved his wife and his family but also had sexual tension with the opposite sex. Even though Paul didn't have any, you can still kind of compare him to Odysseus. But basically Odysseus loved women and they pretty much loved him because he was very successful when it came to women. Especially when it came to beautiful goddesses. Greek heroes were slightly different from the other heroes. Odysseus was very slick not only when he is with women but also when he was acting. And not just acting for the hell of it but for his life. Like when he disguised himself as a beggar when he finally reached Ithaca, waiting for the right moment to reveal himself. Now as great as he was, Odysseus still had some weaknesses that prolonged his voyage back to Ithaca. His most important weakness that he possessed was his pride. Pride is good to have, but in Odysseus' case he had way too much of it. This is clearly evident in the scene on the Cyclopes' island.
