In the present time money plays a role throughout the beginning and during the relationship. Yet in the past, your place in society depended on how much money you owned. This affected the way in which the male called on the female. For example, courting or marriage rituals occurred differently in a variety of cultures and class levels; the reason is that whether viewed historically or in contemporary terms, each culture and class has its unique courting rituals and wedding rites. .
However, money is not the only device that plays a role on courting and its rituals. Take for instance religions. This aspect of the wedding ceremony is universal; within each culture, the religious association does influence the ceremonial rituals.
