Is everyone born with creative impulses, with the urge to indulge artistic expression of some kind, or is creativity a special gift granted only to a few? I believe creativity and artistic expression is a part of someone that everyone is born with. The thought that it could only be granted to a select few is ridiculous due to the fact that we as humans are born with a mind separate to the brain that allows us to make our own decisions and choices. If we are able to make decisions then it is up to a person how to display their own sense of creativity or artistic expression to the world.
Depending on what type of personality a person has would illustrate what type of creativity they posses. For example, I like to write computer programs; creativity for me is writing an original and creative program accurate to the task at hand. Other examples of different types of people showing their own sense of creativity could be artists, where there task would be to make a work of art bound to only to the limits of their own mind or creativity. Other people have interests in other things, and within their interests they show their own sense of being original and creative. .
Sometimes a person could be very creative/artistic and something would discourage them from continuing to be artistic. I remember drawing pictures in previous school years and I would be able to complete most of a picture, but when I would compare my picture to others I would get discouraged and not be inspired to finish. This comes from me of wanting to make the best picture with the best design and if there were better pictures then the discouragement would snap in. I now realize as long as your creative in your own sense then that's all you can do.
