Gang Rape On Campus

The moment you get accepted into a college, you are overwhelmed with joy and excitement because you get to meet new people, learn new ways of life, go to parties and develop new relationships. For example, what if you are at one of those parties and suddenly you feel that you have become vulnerable to your new surroundings? In my opinion, I would think "why did you go by yourself?" or "get out of there!" The chances for a young girl at a college campus to get raped are higher due to the increasingly amounts of drug and alcohol consumption. Not only it is a single person (most likely male) that is raping the young girl but several of his "friends" are sure to follow their friend while watching each other; what is to be known as a "gang rape", "gang bang", "playing train", or "express".
This website is more of an article that is only a partial article to the page. Other topics on this page include "The Date Rape Drug", "Abusive Relationships", and "Prevention of Sexual Harassments in Schools". All these topics have references cited within the articles. I found that these articles could be used as useful references for future recommendations. They provide excellent facts about what is increasing in the United States today; rapes.
Well, that first description of gang rape is only a partial to my understanding but according to a reference on the website, the entire meaning of the word gang rape is a "violent act committed by a group of males with a common bond (such as gang, fraternity, or athletic team members) in which each member has sex in turn with a female in the presence of the entire group." We have learned that rapes are more common between the ages of 12-18; however it is continued onto their adult life (mostly where alcohol is associated in the party scene).
Since most of the gang rapes are committed on campus by fraternity members, they feel as if this is a form of acceptance and there is nothing wrong with this act.
