A Little Common Sense

I can not think of too many topics that raise my blood pressure quite as much as the ignorant individuals that take advantage of the civil lawsuit system. I am referring to the parents that are now jumping on the "bandwagon" to sue numerous major fast-food chains by blaming them for their obesity. The individuals I am speaking of would like you to believe that fast food chains have a hold on American consumers. .
By the fast food chains not clearly stating the unhealthy nutritional facts on their menus and packaging, some people feel this makes it impossible for them to make informed decisions about what is being ingested into their bodies. What an unfathomable thought to make, something that soaks in oil, feels oily at one's touch and tastes greasy is in all likely hoods, unhealthy. .
I find it very hard to believe that there is anyone who doesn't know a double cheeseburger, fries, and an apple pie might be loaded with fat, cholesterol, and carbohydrates. Unfortunately, many people are claiming that for years, they have been unknowingly eating very unhealthy foods at these restaurants and are now obese and facing serious health problems. These affirmations define what a "frivolous claim" is and will eventually clog the civil justice system with lawsuits. I believe the majority of the people who are filing lawsuits are doing so mainly because they see this as a good as refusing to take responsibility for their own actions. .
For many years, fast food restaurants have had an alternative menu for those who prefer to eat healthier. You can often find items on these menus such as salads, low fat dressings, soups, veggie burgers, baked potatoes, and low-fat yogurt parfaits. The alternative menu indicates, in my opinion, that the fast food industry has recognized many of their foods as unhealthy and they offer choice to those who want it. It is then the responsibility of the individual person to acknowledge the difference between unhealthy and healthy menus and then make an educated food selection upon their preference.
