Self

To every man there opens a way and ways and ways.
The high soul climbs the high way and the low soul follows the low.
And in-between on the misty rocks the rest drift to and fro,.
To every man their opens a high way and a low,.
And every man decides the way his soul shall go.
             - John Oxenharm .
Each person is his own self. Even at an early age one already knows of what his self is all about (self-concept). Knowing that you are in the threshold of a new stage in life is normal. Every stage that we enter marks a transition, that helps us grow not only in the intellectual level but as a whole person. In a transition there are two main factors affecting one's self-concept: his self and others. The communication happening between other people have a big impact on our self-concept be it positive or negative depending on the experience met.
As I go over the question of who is the most significant person in my life, I cannot think of any other name other than my parents. My father and mother are the one's who helped me be what I am today. They helped me to conquer my weaknesses, nourish my strengths and cope up with my needs. Also they taught me good values, which strengthen my relationship with God and other people. Their love remains in spite of misdeeds and ungratefulness. That is the kind of love that we cannot get from other people. .
My parents are my best friends. From them I learned to face my first problems. From them I get most of my first ideas, habits, attitudes and emotional reactions. Confidence is what they always tell me not to forget; that anything I do must have my whole heart in it. But there were also times when I lose my confidence, but then they are always there to boost it up. Like when I was in kindergarten, I was very shy because it was my first time to go to school unlike my other classmates that have already attended school (nursery). But my parents were there for me; they taught me that we are all the same if I just exert more effort and I must say I did and got along with the others just well.
