If a person needs financial assistance or does not have insurance benefits to cover the costs, the 1016 House will assist in determining a claim for assistance based on income, W-2's, and CFX140's. Most patients come by way of referral through the county courts, Department of Corrections, substance abuse centers, and diagnostic centers.
The treatment involved at the 1016 House is mostly therapy and counseling. If patient needs detoxification therapy or methadone treatments they are referred out to another facility. This center does not discriminate against those seeking help who are HIV positive.
The Drug and Alcohol Policy that The 1016 House has in effect, prohibits the possession of alcohol and drugs and their use. The 1016 House identifies the program managers, the testing circumstances for drugs and alcohol, and the testing procedures which are consistent with 49 CFR part 40 and maintaining confidentiality. The policy also contains a description of behavior/ consequences on tests that come back positive, and a description of the evaluation and treatment process for their second chance policy. In addition, they use this to provide information on the effects of alcohol and drugs misuse, as well as their employee background checks. The substance abuse policy is reviewed and updated at least two times a year.
The 1016 House also offers education and training on their substance abuse policy. All new employees participate in training sessions, which are offered everyday. The trainings usually cover ramification of drug use on personal health, safety, and work environment, also available are collections process and procedures, information on signs and symptoms, and consequences of a positive test result or refusals to test. The 1016 House also trains their supervisors, the trainings are at least one hour long and covers the following information; how to make reasonable determinations for drug and alcohol suspicions, indications of drug and alcohol through physical appearance, behavioral, and performance.
