             99 why is there such a big price gap between these two HP? The first reason comes to the processor brand and type. The cheaper one carries a 1.3 GHz by the brand Celeron. The expensive one carries a 2.26GHz made by Intel. The more expensive one is much faster and a better brand name. Second, we move to the RAM or random access memory which relay the signals to the processor. The more RAM you have the faster you computer can move. The more expensive computer has 1GB compared to 128MB that along shows a larger difference. Third, the hard drive on the smaller one is 40 GB compared to 80GB with out the larger space on the hard drives you wouldn't be able to store any thing for long term access, though 40gb is plenty to work with. Fourth comes to your CD-ROM, the more expensive one provides you with the ablity to write and rewrite cds and also play DVDs, while the less expensive one only allows you to read a cd. Finally, Both of the units don't include monitors so you would have to buy that separately.
