Cheerleader Sweat Too!

I had never done one before and I could barely get my legs up past my knees. Next they put us in stunt groups, to see if we were capable of stunting. Of course I was the flyer, the one they throw up in the air and hopefully catch. My group tried and tried until we finally got our stunt up. The easy part was going up now I had to get down. Which was a whole other task in itself? Practice finally ended, three hours later. As the weeks went on, a lot of girls stopped coming. I guess they couldn't handle it, at times I felt like I couldn't take it anymore. Every day I woke up sore, I felt like I couldn't walk but I sucked it up. The first month we were just working on game cheers. They were easy cheers, thirty second cheers that mostly consisted of "GO, FIGHT, And WIN- so they were easy to remember.              I thought competition was only for college cheerleaders and we were nowhere near being as good as them. Our coaches handed out a paper with our competition cheer typed on it; they told us we needed to memorize it. I thought to myself I could never memorize this plus a dance. For a week straight we only worked on our cheer, we weren't good at all. Our coaches had no faith in us. They always used to tell us "You girls aren't going anywhere looking like this-. I don't think it was to motivate us to be better because we really sucked. We weren't together, our claps were off, we couldn't get our jumps at the same time and we definitely couldn't get our stunts up. Soon they started to teach us the moves of the competition dance but they didn't teach us with our music just with eight counts.
