During this time, the nursery will find us trees, such as cherry blossom trees, that have strong, beautiful fragrances. We hope this will help with the smell, however small, near the plant.
Our second community service project will be adopting three miles of highway near the plant that the company will keep clean. Although this will do nothing to help with the smell, we want to reaffirm in the minds of the citizens that we are concerned with the environment. .
We will distribute a press release about this, and Bill Callahan, president of the company, will give a press conference on the side of the highway. We fully intend for him to participate in cleaning up garbage at least once every six months or so. We understand that the president has important business to attend to, and therefore we are only requesting his presence about once every six times or so. .
We think the most important step in the entire program is the support of the employees. In surveys we conducted with the workers we found that the one thing they want from the company is to feel like they matter more in the decision-making process. We decided to go with the results of the survey, and distribute another survey for suggestions. Having done this and using some of the data in our problem solving campaign, we feel as though the employees are really on our side. .
To initially inform the public about our proposed filtration system, we will put out a press release to go to all local television, radio stations and newspapers. The release will be brief, simply telling the people what we are going to do about the smell. Once we have fully decided on which filtration system we are choosing another press release will be sent out with more detail about how it will work and how it will effect the town. The news release will be the first line of defense in introducing a final solution to this problem. .
Included with the release will be a photo and caption of the proposed filter system.
