Building Programs

The Size of the building is very important if you are limited on space to build. The space is also an issue if you are looking at moving the whole church or adding on to what you already have. These are very important in the building process. The building committee is also responsible to let the church now what is going on during the building process and how long it is probable to take. The main responsibility of the build committee along with the finance committee or treasurer of the church is to sit down and figure out whether or not it is possible to build a new building right now or to suffer and save up to build at a later date. If the money is not there to start and finish the project, do not start at all. The final thing to do is to find an architect to fit with the building your church is looking to build, if the architect comes in and tries to tell you that he does not see the vision to build then get a new one. However, it is very important to listen carefully to what your architect has to say. .
"A good architect has talent, training, and experience in design. He is capable of analyzing his client's needs architecturally, of designing a useful, beautiful, durable, and economical structure, and preparing master plans, preliminary sketches, estimates of cost, working drawings, and specifications." Most architects are not only the designers of the buildings, but also the worker on the building, and the manager during the building process. Doing all of this can be hard on a person that is why it is important to choice the right man for the job, and to even hire an architect. I am sure you are not ready to take on that role as a common person, over someone who does this for a living. I would rather have a professional build my church then the guy who sits on the second to last pew, how about yours? While not all the power falls on an architect many things will aide in getting everything you want of your building.
