With the weight of college applications on students" shoulders, their chances are exacerbated when students slack off to enjoy their senior year. A poor lifestyle choice like this only leads to adversity and a mediocre future. But once accepted into college, students work directly towards their future. Majors and degrees aid them to narrow their decisions in careers, after undergraduate and graduate school. The highest education to achieve in college is the Doctorate and usually takes seven to eight years. Most students relent to continue college for that long period of time, and leave after graduating with their Masters to pursue a career. In the limited years of school, it is not hard to over burden oneself and to veer off track.
             Students often face mistakes and poor decisions going through high school and college. The pressure to succeed and the overwhelming work causes students to become lazy and procrastinate on important matters. It is quite common to experience this or see this occur among peers. In being responsible, a sensible balance must be placed between working and relaxing. Often students cram for tests and do poorly as a result of too much stress. Cases of nervous breakdowns are seen rarely, but happens to students at young ages. On the other end of the spectrum, not doing enough academically will also result in nearly the same negative repercussions. Spending too much time partying and not enough studying, students find themselves hanging on by the skin of their teeth when finals come around. Poor study habits have a direct correlation with students to who drop out and cannot cope with the burden.
