The news media shows too much violence on television. Remember the Columbine incident? If the news media had not publicized it like they did, many schools across America would not have gotten any of the bomb threats that ensued after Columbine. Parents and teachers tell children to watch the news because it is less violent than the cartoons and music videos out there. When the Columbine crises went down, the news was all over it. I was watching the Superman Batman hour when it was interrupted by a special report. The kids watching at that particular moment would have seen a young student climbing out of the library window covered in his blood. And the gunshots that soon followed made by the S.W.A.T. team and the two armed boys inside the school. If this is less violent than a cartoon duck getting smashed by an anvil I am in the wrong country. The major news media stations covered the chaos live then they reaired it threw out the next two months. Within the next few weeks there where more than twenty-five arrest where made around the country on kids copying the Harris and Cleabold escapade, some just saying that they are going to blow-up their schools. The news media is seemingly driven by violence and people probably don't want their kid to grow up to participate in violent activities. ( 242 words ).
