I chose this subject for my search because it has always interested me, but I never found time to actually look deep into it. I just wanted to know why the greatest rapper to ever live was murdered and the investigation for him was given up upon so easily. The way I looked at the situation, there should have been a reward, a manhunt, or something to find the murderer, but there was nothing, absolutely nothing, done. This defiantly bothered me. Why should someone so famous be forgotten about so quickly? The first time I heard of Tupac's death I was shocked, and so was everyone else I knew. The media had a field day with all of the incoherent sorties. Everybody was trying to figure out what "really happened." Now to find out what really did happen, I decided to start my analysis at the beginning, or in this case, Tupac's death. .
Tupac Shaker was gunned down in a drive-by shooting on Saturday, September 7, 1996, while leaving from a heavyweight fight in Las Vegas with Suge Knight, the CEO of Death Row Records, Tupac's record company. He was then pronounced dead on September the 13th. This would not be at all important except for that day was Friday the 13th. What an interesting day to be pronounced dead (Alive 1). This swept grief around the world, grief that even I felt. Tupac was cremated only a couple of hours after he was pronounced dead, which went against his only requests to his mother and to Suge Knight. He was quoted as saying that he wished to be buried in his song "Life Goes On," off his All Eyez on Me CD (Alive 2). The fact that his mother and his best friend went against his own death wish definitely made me wonder.
