When I turned one year old I started dribbling a basketball. My parents knew that I was a basketball stud. Ever since then I have not gone many days without touching a basketball, and I practice every day. I started in a league when I was four years old and have played in the same league ever since. I am trying out for the sanderson basketball team this year for the second year in a row. I have always dreamt of playing in the NBA, and I think that if I work hard enough I can achieve that goal.
My quest is that I want to play in the NBA some day. I am glad that I started playing basketball at a young age so that I can go through all the experiences of playing the game. When I was ten years old I played on an AAU team and six out of eight plays were drawn up for my shot. After the third game I was worn out and I understood that I couldn't handle every play going towards me, and I fell to my limitations. My coach got on me for not playing good and told me I wouldn't make it next year if I didn't pick it up. I got very sick during our last season tournament and I couldn't play. I knew that was probably the end of my basketball career. I worked even harder in the off season and I learned how to adjust and play team basketball. This way all the weight of the game wasn't just on my shoulders and it was on the whole teams. .
I learned that courage and force are not the only elements of being brave and wanting to try new things but that mind and attitude have a lot to do with playing the game. I learned that passing the ball and giving it up helps the team out a lot and that you can't do everything by yourself. After AAU I went on to middle school and I played for the middle school basketball team. In my eighth grade year my coach told me that if I work hard enough and one day I will play in the NBA. I saw an opportunity and I went for it, I started playing everyday and every chance I got. I also starting teaching a shooting camp for kids at a young age because it's always better to start younger.
