Just as anything else in life, humans are looking for a scapegoat. They are looking to blame their problems off on something other than themselves. So who gets the blame for violent children and teens of the present day, the television. This is nothing other than pure fallacy. The truth behind the nonsense is that the violent behavior we see in our children does not come from the television; it comes from the home life. If a child is beaten on a regular basis or sees mommy and daddy fighting every night, we cannot expect anything less than a violent child. The child will repeat what it sees the parents do. Our children are raised today with rainbow pride cartoons and television episodes that does not show nor prepare them for what the real world is like. So what does the government do? The government makes laws preventing such acts of "violence" from reaching the television. Not only that, they extend further into the video games and big screens. One now has to be at least eighteen years or older to buy an "R" rated movie or game, and to see an "R" rated movie. I am not disagreeing with the ratings system; there should be some kind of ratings to let the consumer know what kind of movie or game they are viewing. This way it is left up to the individual to make his or her own choice. But making a law forbidding one to view such material is just ludicrous. This is where our constitutional rights are being violated. This is a free country. The definition of free: Having personal liberty, not bound by restrictions or regulations (Funk & Wagnall's Standard Desk Dictionary 1984). Not only does this violate our rights but also it adds a new meaning to the word "free dumb". The paradox does not stop here, it continues into our books that we can and cannot read. .
"Is uniformity attainable? Millions of innocent men, women, and children, since the introduction of Christianity, have been burnt, tortured, fined, imprisoned; yet we have not advanced one inch towards uniformity.
